Abstract

The article examines the foreign experience of achieving gender parity, which is especially important for the problem of women's participation in the socio-economic and institutional life of Ukraine. Ukraine, in an effort to enter the European Union and achieve gender parity, must still carry out a very wide range of changes and reincarnations along the way. But this task is facilitated by the fact that we can analyze, evaluate and use the existing experience of countries that have already gone through this path and have some achievements in overcoming gender imbalances. Considering the previous experience of other countries, it must be understood that there is no single "best" way to strengthen the gender balance in society. The purpose of the article is to analyze and study foreign experience in achieving gender parity and to suggest ways to use international experience according to the existing gender situation. In order to implement the analyzed international experience in ensuring gender equality in Ukraine, the author proposed following recommendations:ensure consistency of vision and policy of achieving gender equality with a common vision of the country's development; consider widening the inclusion of gender targets in public and sectoral programs and strategic plans; consider the possibility of developing an annual "national" report of Parliament on the implementation of the gender equality strategy; enhance opportunities for the full involvement of stakeholders in the design, implementation and monitoring of gender equality policies, including central government, sectoral ministries, civil society organizations, academia, business circle; strengthen the dual approach within the framework of the gender equality strategy by focusing on specific measures to promote gender equality and the widespread introduction of gender approaches.
