Abstract

The article is devoted to the topical issues of the regional industrial competitiveness of the regions of Ukraine.

The author stated that the formation of the modern paradigm of regional industrial competitiveness of the region of Ukraine requires carrying out the research of the nature of the competitiveness and its actual manifestations during the transformation of economic relations within the country and strengthening the uncertainty and dynamism of the environment.

The article is aimed at the formation of the paradigm of regional industrial competitiveness of the regions by studying practical problems for effective use of existing factors of production to create new competitive advantages.

The paper summarizes the different periods and the theory of scientific knowledge concerning the category of "competitiveness".

Within the paradigm of industrial competitiveness the author emphasized that improving regional competitiveness of industry is only possible through the development of innovative component of its activities. In modern conditions innovative development of the regional industry is an important competitive advantage that allows you to respond quickly to changing market situation.

It has been stated that the main component of the regional industrial competiveness is its factors of formation. The competitiveness of industry in the region is reflected in its ability to ensure the production of competitive industrial products in terms of effective use of existing factors of production to create new competitive advantages.

The author points out the impact on regional competitiveness of the industry, by means of the establishment of a free trade zone with the EU countries, along with the availability of natural resources, production, employment potential, are external factors (the level of socio-economic development, national and cultural characteristics and economic interests). Until Ukraine achieves recognized status as an equal partner, it will remain a country that acts as a supplier of raw material and intellectual resources to other more developed countries.

It has been concluded that the modern paradigm of industrial competitiveness is based on the formation and development the capacity of the regions of Ukraine which will facilitate the transformation of acute regional competitive relations into mutually beneficial cooperation based on principles of  combining competition and cooperation in favor of national interests.
