Abstract

This study examines the theoretical foundations of adaptive management regarding the resource potential of business entities, delineating its core essence, guiding principles, and structural components. In contrast to conventional management frameworks centered on predetermined objectives within static environments, adaptive management relies on strategic flexibility, continuous environmental scanning, multidirectional feedback, and dynamic decision calibration. The research conceptualizes resource potential not as a static inventory, but as an evolving configuration of tangible and intangible organizational assets, internal competencies, and strategic opportunities. To operationalize this construct, the authors systematize the fundamental principles governing resource adaptability–specifically systemic integrity, operational flexibility, responsiveness, and continuity. These principles align organizational resources with evolving environmental demands, optimize factor utilization, and foster long-term enterprise sustainability. The study establishes that the adaptability of resource potential depends on the capacity of its functional subsystems to transform, interact, and reconfigure in response to external volatility and internal operational needs. Consequently, adaptive management serves as an institutional mechanism enabling systematic monitoring, iterative assessment, and real-time structural realignment of enterprise capabilities. Ultimately, the findings demonstrate that organizational effectiveness is determined by cross-functional resource synergy and managerial agility in dynamically restructuring enterprise potential against emerging market threats. The proposed theoretical framework provides an analytical foundation for engineering practical mechanisms of adaptive resource management in volatile business environments.
