Abstract

The national paradigm of human development in Ukraine is a strategic direction of public administration. Taking into account certain achievements in this sphere, the condition of development of socio-demographic potential in our country is extremely unsatisfactory.

Modern approaches to the interpretation of socio-demographic potential don’t provide a clear understanding of such category as a system of socio-demographic potential because of the lack of their identification of system features within the framework of the corresponding wording. The article is devoted to the study of the content of the system of socio-demographic potential, its elements and their interconnection. The author notes, that modern approaches to the interpretation of socio-demographic potential don’t provide a clear understanding of such category as a system of socio-demographic potential because of the lack of their consideration of system features within the framework of the corresponding wording. In the article the opinion is expressed that regardless of the approach to the definition of the system as a category, its interpretation remains unchanged due to a plurality of interconnected objects and resources organized by the process of systematization into a single whole. The proposed copyright law is to consider the social-demographic potential as the result of the interaction of the two subsystems: the demographic subsystem (sex, age, marital status) and the social subsystem (social composition, educational level, life expectancy, health status, migration mobility). The author has proved that socio-demographic potential is a system of possibilities and motivations, abilities and qualities of individuals, social groups, society, providing their vital activity, working capacity, social activity and its reproduction. Thus, the study provides an opportunity to argue that socio-demographic potential is a system of possibilities and motivations, abilities and qualities of individuals, social groups, and societies that provide their livelihoods, ability to work, social activity and its reproduction. In the presence of the necessary resources and needs of its carriers, the socio-demographic potential is realized in labor activity. The source of socio-demographic potential is the demographic potential, the main factors of which are: health, education, professional knowledge, skills and abilities, favorable living conditions and labor.
