Abstract

The article has substantiated the relevance of the problems in the development of the digital market in the information economy and, consequently, the expansion of digital employment use. The current state of personnel employment on digital platforms in Ukraine and the world practice has investigated, its main tendencies and prospects of development have revealed. The purpose of the study is to identify the benefits and challenges of digital employment and identify and ways to improve it. The solution of the problem has carried out with the help of general scientific methods: abstract-logical, theoretical generalization, comparison, systematization, sociological analysis. The paper has analyzed the peculiarities of online workers’ cooperation with customers, as well as employment digital forms, the presence of social risks, and the manifestation of social insecurity among personnel. The main attention pays to the peculiarities of Ukrainian freelancer work, in particular, the motivational aspects of employment on the Internet, forms of control over their work through platforms, relationships with employers, issues of legal labor relation regulation, etc. The advantages of using Ukrainian digital workers to foreign clients have identified. Attention also pays to electronic freelancing and outsourcing. The paper deals with the unfavorable manifestations of the digital employment use, as a result of the spread of crowdsourcing, identifies threats to its further development and ways to prevent them. Based on European experience, major approaches to regulating digital employment and providing social protection opportunities for online workers in the Internet economy have been identified through the legalization of platform revenue, strengthening the influence of trade unions, representative and other organizations, developing appropriate standards and enhancing the online employee negotiation process and employers.
