Abstract

The article attempts to combine the authors' opinions in the context of generalizing theoretical approaches to tourism business development and practical analysis of the economic condition of Ukraine's tourism business under the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic. To this end, the article sets a number of tasks: analysis of the dynamics of tourism in Ukraine for 2015-2020, and the number of clients of travel companies, to provide comparative characteristics of the distribution of tourists served by tour operators and travel agents to travel in 2015 and 2020, to clarify the performance of travel agents of legal entities in 2020 by regions of Ukraine, to analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on international tourist arrivals on a regional basis in 2019-2021, to determine the countries visited by Ukrainian citizens and countries from which foreigners came Ukraine in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is proved that the tourism business in Ukraine is not evenly concentrated. The leaders in this indicator are Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv and Lviv regions.
It has been determined that in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, the tourism business in Ukraine, although not developing, is not degrading and remains at a certain level. This situation is due to the high incomes of citizens in certain regions. In such conditions, the number of tour operators and travel agents has decreased, but not much.
It was found that countries such as Turkey and Egypt were most interested in the arrival of tourists from Ukraine during the pandemic. The flow of tourists to these two countries was much higher than in all other countries combined. The number of tourists leaving the country significantly exceeds the number of tourists coming to Ukraine.
