Abstract

The publication attempts to investigate the peculiarities of the correspondence of the Kish of the Zaporozhian Lowland Army with the officers and residents of the Crimean Khanate. The authors draw attention to the obstacles and interference of the Kyiv Governor-General and the Kyiv Provincial Chancellery in the correspondence of the Kish foremen with the southern neighbor, which was carried out by requiring the forwarding of unpacked epistolary from Crimea to Kyiv, and the sending from there to the Zaporozhian Sich of pre-prepared forms-responses to correspondence from Crimea. The peculiarities of the form of letters sent from Kish to the south are also analyzed.
