Abstract

The processes of globalization, which intensify the exchange of experience between experts from different countries, the expansion of the plane of the information field, a certain depressurization of cultural borders, require the processing of significant volumes of foreign literature. Translation – as the most important channel of general information exchange – is becoming global. And the practice of translation from other languages Ukrainian itself has long attracted the attention of figures of Ukrainian culture and literature. Therefore, the interest in translating sacred texts on the example of the Qur’an seems logical. The material offers a brief excursion into the history of translations of the meanings of the Holy Quran in separate European languages. The authors analyze the conditions and context of translations in English-speaking countries and Greece, in particular.
