Abstract

Due to current situation in scientific and practical fields there are a lot of points of view on leadership issues. The objective of the article is to form a structural model of theories of leadership, which will ensure the coherence between them. This allows to analyze the completeness of existing research results and to determine prospects for the development of economic science in the field of leadership. Leadership theories were classified by three domains (leader-based, followers-based, relationship-based) to formulate a structural model.  Also elements of the theory of graphs are used to visualize interconnection between different theories of leadership.

According to Simon's theory of bounded rationality the article justifies the feasibility of using the leadership theory depending on the existing conditions (considering that the leader and followers have certain limitations on rationality and are able to use aspects and methods only of certain theories). It also formulates the assumption of the existence of a consequential connection between leadership theories. On the basis of the analysis of created graph, it was predicted the emergence of a theory that has a consequential connection with the followers-based leadership theories. Research results can be used both in the applied field: for solving the organization's current tasks regarding development of leadership and also allows to form a program for creating conditions (leaders, followers, their relationship) for the practical use of more advanced leadership theories in the future.
