Abstract

In the article the essence of the category of ‘social responsibility’ is seen as a comprehensive concept that reflects the fundamental values of society.

The system of socially responsible behavior of the corporation is seen as a social good; the social institution that regulates social relations; the mechanism of interdependence and harmonization of social interests; the mechanism of social control over the observance of civilized relations between their members.

It is important to ensure the orderliness of the social processes through coordination of interests of businesses and society, maintain the balance of social proportions and achieving priorities in order to prevent the accumulation of social strains. In this aspect, especially important the problem of corporate social responsibility concerning creating a favorable environment being.

The evolution of theoretical and methodological approaches to clarify the content and level of social responsibility as a reflection of the process of public awareness of the needs, requirements and possibilities to satisfy them are observed. The attention is focused on the responsibility of corporations as a criteria necessity and effectiveness of their activities, as an effective tool of social control mechanism to align private and public interests. Characterized both positive and problematic aspects to achieve social benefits concerning distraction for the company's financial and human resources.

The corporate social responsibility is a significant socioeconomic and administrative governance component of the national economy. In modern social transformations  the role of this social institution is extremely important. As a voluntary action, socially responsible activities of the company are regulated by social norms. The latter can be seen as a means of enforcement for the protection of normal living conditions and ensure their sustainability. The choice of a particular behavior variant and its regulation by social norms depend on the social role and economic status of the subject.

The necessity of a new type of social relations-oriented on increasing corporate responsibility for their impact on social development.
