The modern concept of development of the agricultural sector must take into account the diversity of natural and economic conditions of production, sale of agricultural products, which is largely determined by its territorial and sectoral division of labor: interconnected specialization of individual regions and natural differences that affect the production of certain types of products, placement of food and processing industry, efficiency of functioning of agro-industrial production.
In each region, production and economic activity of agricultural enterprises are carried out under certain natural, climatic, economic, socio-cultural, infrastructural, political, legal, demographic, technical and technological conditions that have developed historically. One of the most important for the development of the economic activity of agricultural enterprises in the Odessa region is the natural and climatic factor, which directly affects the reproduction of production, and, as a consequence, the introduction of waste-free agricultural production.
The purpose of the study is to reveal the regional aspects of the development of waste-free production activities of the agricultural enterprises of Ukraine.
The current problem of waste management is a consequence of the long-term treatment of it as a minor issue, at the state and local levels. It should be emphasized that the practical solution of waste management as a secondary resource should be concentrated at the regional level. Due to the underestimation of the role of secondary raw materials for the region’s natural resource potential, lack of awareness and lack of marketing of secondary resources, neglect of social and environmental factors, and to some extent mismanagement, much of the waste that can be used as material and energy resources. Waste is rarely recovered and is not further utilized for the production of various types of products.
It is established that the greatest potential for the development of non-waste agro-industrial production is the Odessa region.
A well-grounded combination in the practice of managing the crop and livestock industries contributes to the most complete and effective use of land, labor, material resources; mitigation of seasonality of production; reduction of uneven labor costs and means of production; cyclical use of nutrients in nature; increase in labor productivity; to increase the efficiency of agricultural production.
Farms with a rational combination of crop and livestock industries make maximum use of available resource potential and, as a consequence, are more resilient in economic relations, providing social and environmental benefits to production. The goal of an optimum integrated combination of crop and animal husbandry in agricultural production can be achieved in the context of effective economic organization of agricultural activities through the use of non-waste resource-saving technologies, proper maintenance of agricultural production and in general optimization of all elements of the production structure.
