The article aims to explore the challenges of translating English financial terminology into Ukrainian in the context of the increasing importance of international financial communication and the growing exchange of professional information among specialists worldwide. Particular attention is payed to the rendering of the lexical layer of the financial domain, which is marked by a high degree of standardization and internationalization, while simultaneously demonstrating semantic variability that complicates interlingual transfer and calls for unified translation approaches. The study focuses on the lexical translation transformations as key tools for achieving adequacy, precision and functional equivalence in the transfer of specialized terminological units across languages. It is emphasized that effective translation of financial terminology requires careful consideration of structural, semantic and pragmatic properties of terms, as well as their role within professional discourse and communicative practice. It is also noted that the financial terminological system includes both clearly defined standardized units with established equivalents and polysemous terms that demand flexible and context-sensitive translation strategies. The analysis highlights equivalence-based translation, calquing, transcoding, and lexical-semantic shifts as major mechanisms of interlingual adaptation of financial vocabulary. The systematic approach to terminology translation is presented as essential for ensuring accuracy in financial communication, preventing meaning distortion and preserving the integrity of specialized content across different linguistic and professional contexts. The discussed issues correspond to current directions in Ukrainian translation studies focused on domain-specific translation.
