Abstract

The article presents a linguostylistic analysis of urban fragments from the novel A Trap for the Butcher by Yurii Datsenko, in which the city emerges as a personified artistic subject. The main linguistic means of modeling the image of the city are identified, including anthropomorphic predication, somatic metaphorics, syntactic accumulation, polysensory detailing, semantic contrast, and evaluative vocabulary. It is demonstrated that the urban space in the novel functions as an autonomous character that interacts with the protagonists and reflects their psychological states.
