Abstract

This article explores innovative approaches to project team management within a dynamic economy. It begins by analyzing scientific perspectives on the “project team” concept to formulate a generalized definition. The research substantiates the need to transition from traditional management models toward innovative, flexible methodologies like Agile, Scrum, and Kanban, which enhance team adaptability and productivity. Modern approaches to team formation are also considered, emphasizing team self-organization, with the project manager acting as a coordinator rather than a traditional controller.
Particular attention is given to the role of self-management as a key factor in effective team interaction, encompassing skills such as time management, goal setting, self-organization, and accountability. The article proposes parameters for assessing the levels of innovation and self-management among team members. These metrics can be used by project managers during team selection, performance monitoring, and the development of the team’s motivational profile. Accordingly, project managers should prioritize team members who demonstrate creativity, cognitive flexibility, initiative, openness to innovation, determination, and a capacity for self-learning.
Furthermore, a comparative analysis of innovative and traditional approaches is conducted across several criteria: team organization, management style, leadership role, communication, flexibility, motivation, performance assessment, and responsiveness to change. This comparison leads to conclusions about the optimal contexts and project types for each approach.
Finally, the article proposes a comprehensive algorithm for effective project team management. This framework involves several stages: strategic planning; team formation based on member potential; selection of an adaptive management model that integrates innovative and traditional elements; cultivation of self-management skills; digitalization of work processes with modern digital tools; and regular evaluation of results to develop future action plans.
