LOCATION, ESSENCE AND CLASSIFICATION SIGNS OF INVESTMENT SERVICES IN FINANCIAL SERVICES

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to study the essence of financial and investment services, distinguishing the classification features of investment services according to international standards. The conducted research made it possible to determine that financial services can be classified into three groups: a) insurance and those related to insurance; b) banking and other financial services (except insurance); c) investment. It has been established that the latest global financial crisis has clearly demonstrated the weaknesses of the functioning and transparency of financial services markets, which demanded strengthening the foundations of their regulation in order to protect investors, increase confidence, and provide the supervisory authorities with appropriate powers to fulfill their functions and tasks. This has led to changes in the laws of the countries, in particular in the field of investment services. The author's understanding of investment services as transactions with financial assets in financial services markets carried out by enterprises, a permanent type of occupation or whose permanent activity consists in the production of such services and / or the conduct of investment activities on a professional basis, in the interests of professional or retail clients at their own expense or at the expense of these persons, and in cases stipulated by the law – and at the expense of borrowed from other persons financial assets, in order to receive income and / or to preserve the real the value of financial assets. They can be classified according to international standards, in particular by way of implementation, type of manufacturer, type of client, sales tools, trading platform, type of trade, differentiation of needs the client, the movement of financial assets, the duration and purpose of the service.
