This article investigates the role of innovative technologies in reducing production costs within agricultural enterprises amid contemporary economic challenges. It substantiates the importance of digitalization, precision farming, automation, and energy-efficient solutions as key determinants for improving the efficiency and competitiveness of agricultural production systems. The study identifies major cost-driving factors–including wartime conditions, climate change, energy instability, logistical disruptions, labor shortages, and ongoing European integration–all of which significantly increase production expenses.
Particular attention is paid to the potential of innovation-driven solutions to mitigate these challenges by optimizing resource use; reducing fuel, fertilizer, and labor costs; and enhancing managerial decision-making. The paper analyzes digital transformation across leading agroholdings, demonstrating how integrated digital platforms, GPS-based monitoring systems, precision agriculture tools, ERP systems, and automated production technologies drive cost reduction and productivity growth.
The research also highlights global trends in AgTech development, including artificial intelligence, digital twins, data-driven agriculture, and regenerative farming practices that reshape traditional agricultural models and enhance sustainability. Additionally, the study emphasizes the strategic importance of aligning Ukraine’s agricultural sector with European Union standards, requiring substantial investment in modernization, digital infrastructure, quality control systems, and environmental monitoring.
The findings confirm that innovation-oriented transformation is a key prerequisite for ensuring the long-term sustainability, economic resilience, and global competitiveness of agricultural enterprises.
