National and Cultural Achievements of the Ukrainians in Canada

Abstract

The article highlights the cultural, educational, scientific, etc. achievements of the Ukrainians in Canada. Their activity encompasses the process of creating and building Ukrainian schools, universities, churches and other religious and cultural institutions in Canada. This article focuses on the establishment of the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies in Edmonton, on the development of Ukrainian system of education for students of secondary and high schools, and on the development of the press, which raised important questions about events in Ukraine and the Ukrainian Diaspora. The article deals with the development of Ukrainian art in Canada, with famous artists, poets, writers, actors, with galleries, museums, libraries, archives, etc. The author analyses the activity of the Ukrainians who achieved significant heights in the political sphere of Canada and who made a great contribution to the development and implementation of multiculturalism.
