Hrushevsky Lviv Historical School: Diaspora Discourse

Abstract

This article is dedicated to the research of versatile problems which is conducted by scholars of the Ukrainian diaspora regarding Lviv Historical School of Mykhailo Hrushevky. The author of the article identifies the most controversial issues that are in the center of attention of diaspora scholars: the school structure, its representatives, peculiarities of the relationship between young historians and their teacher. It is highlighted that for the first time Lviv Historical School became the subject of the independent comprehensive study in works of Liubomyr Vynar who summarized the preliminary historiographical tradition. There author of the article reaches the conclusion that the works of these scholars represent an important stage of Hrushevsky studies and constitute the basis of the modern research.
