SUBJECT CARPETS OF ELDAR MIKAILZADE AND SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS IN THEM

Abstract

In this article, the author investigated the plot rugs of Mikailzade and the symbols depicted in them. His plot carpets occupy one of the most interesting pages in the artist’s work, as well as in the field of decorative and applied art of Azerbaijan. Among the plot carpets of the artist there are topics dedicated to the famous literary works of Azerbaijani classics – Nizami, Fizuli and other topics, as well as religious subjects. The plot carpets include: “Entire Azerbaijan” (1981), “Shabi-hijran” (1981), “In the world of fairy tales” (1983), “Musical luminaries of Azerbaijan” (1985), “Candle (Fizuli)” (1989) , “Khamsa” (1990), “Khatai” (1990), “Treasury of secrets” (1992), “Tebrizname” (1993), “Zodiacs” (1991, 2000), “Khamsa” (1990), “Shabi-hijran ”(2006),“ Origin ”(2010),“ Universe ”(2012); and on religious topics – “The Five Pillars of Islam” (1991), “Savior” (1995-1997), “The Tree of the Prophet” (1998), “Torah” (1999), “The Appearance of Jesus” (2000), “Bismillahi-ryahmani -reachim “(2003),” Three Prophets “(2004). The plot carpets of the Eldar Mikailzade studied by the author reveal the interesting inner world of the artist, his creative experience and his accumulated achievements in the Azerbaijani national decorative and applied art, which managed to introduce new searches and philosophical visions into the art of carpet weaving. His carpets are kept in private collections and in many museums in Azerbaijan and the world.
