Abstract

The article analyses the information potential of the 1724 inventory of the part of Ostroh and also tries to determine the circumstances of the inventory’s creation. The town belonged to the middle urban settlements of Right-bank Ukraine, where the representatives of different national communities, including Ukrainians, Poles, and Tatars, lived. Being divided into two parts, Ostroh has been steadily reviving its economic and demographic potential, which can be traced in the published document. The source complements the data about the economy, culture, religion, topography, and architecture of the town and the region as a whole. The characteristic features of the urban development of Volyn Province have been supplemented.
