TO THE SOURCES OF IVAN NECHUI-LEVYTSKYI’S CARTOGRAPHY
Abstract
The cartography of landscapes in Ivan Nechui-Levytskyi’s fiction has been analyzed in the paper. The purpose of the article is to find out the sources of the writer’s topography. The function of using non-Ukrainian toponyms has been clarified. The Ukrainian model of realism proposed by Ivan Nechui-Levytskyi in his treatise Contemporary Literary Direction, has been highlighted. Therefore, Ukrainian toponyms have been explored in line with the interconnection of nation and national landscape.
