Abstract

The article is devoted to the issue of geopoetics in the works of contemporary Ukrainian writer in Rio de Janeiro Vira Vovk (Wira Wowk). The main toposes, loci, archetypes, symbols have been distinguished. The Ukrainian, Brazilian, and other spaces, figures of Ukrainian migrants, indigenous Brazilians, and conquistadors, etc. have been considered. In addition, the issue of statics and dynamics in the space has been raised. Mythological thinking is traced. The sacred and “scary” places, mythological thinking, and the spiritual way of the hero as initiation
have been discussed. Finally, the illusory static character of individual symbols (mountains, gems, etc.) in the author’s discourse has been proved.
