Abstract

The article provides a critical analysis of various lexicographic sources in terms of their use in translating discourse markers. Drawbacks of presenting discourse markers in translation and explanatory dictionaries are revealed. The article suggests ways to enhance the structure of a bilingual dictionary that would consider pragmatic and stylistic aspects of discourse markers meanings by offering appropriate contextual correspondences.
