THE ARTISTIC INTERPRETATION OF THE HISTORY IN THE CONTEXT OF INTERCULTURAL RELATIONS (ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE NOVEL BY LESIA STEPOVYCHKA «MARRIAGE WITH THE GLASS OF PILZENSKE BEER»)

The article says that the problem-thematic, ideological and figurative levels of the novel are aimed at displaying complex searching of person’s place in life. It is noted that in the novel the process of understanding is shown by the following main reasons: history and modernity, homeland and exile, gender and national identity. The researcher notes that in the analysis of reality in the novel the principle of comparison is used: in contrast to the home Europe is seen as an area of security and success.
The author pays attention to the fact that both characters are portrayed as victims of the political system and that the traumatic experience did the heroes closer and revealed to them the opportunity to get even
with the past and start living again. Due to the political circumstances mother have declined from Andreas in childhood, the totalitarian system shifts the gender identification of women and focuses on work, not on
the child. Accordingly, traumatic past of German leads to psychological problems in adulthood. Mariana’s childhood has described the experience of a generation of Soviet children: grew up without a father, terrorized by mother, under the care of a total state. Therefore, its implementation is contrary to the circumstances and maternal figure replaces the traditional image of her grandmother as a carrier of wisdom and continuity of the Ukrainian people.
In the article, it appears that an important semantic center of gravity of the novel is the idea of the last date that discharged through the continuous theme of the Second World War. In fiction novel structure is
involved numerous stories crippled human lives and shows that this political disaster dramatically changed the minds of the Germans.
