RASA AS AN ORIGIN OF ARTISTIC ENERGY OF A WORK

The strongest aesthetic impact on the recipients and the suggestion the aesthetic emotion are an ultimate goal for any artist. At the same time an artistic work generates energy to the readers, and, as a result, the emotion is generated. The technologies for creating the emotional impact were investigated in detail in Sanskrit poetics. The theory of aesthetic emotions originally presented in the theory of theatrical art, and then developed in other kinds of art, including literature. The analysis of this Indian knowledge about the rasa lets specify the nature of emotion, its function, and the “technics” for the emotional impact on the recipients. So, the paper deals with the concept of rasa as a main origin of artistic energy of a work on the basis of the tractate Nāṭ yaśāstra by Bharata. The nature of rasa has been studied, the specifi c of its creation has been found out, and its function in the art has been determined. In the context of the active researches of the issue of the emotional impact in the different kinds of art, especially in literature, the Sanskrit concept of rasa is important, as this knowledge completes the theory of emotion in a work of fi ction.
