The article focuses on English language quotations, aphorisms and aphoristic statements as means of verbalization of LIFE concept in terms of the framing approach. The notion of frame has been considered. The conceptual content of the action frame, one of the basic frames of the concept, has been investigated. The action frame characterizes an object on the basis of its activities and demonstrates such features of LIFE as its ability to perform an action or to experience an action. The research indentifies and describes action schemas of state / process, of contact action as well as a causative schema. The author notes a diverse degree of the prevalence of these elements and states that the action frame is most often objectified in the schemas of contact action and of state / process, while the caution schema is found to be least representative. The article postulates the fact that there are additional propositional roles within the action frame of the investigated concept such as stimulus, precondition, mode, temporative, locative, or circumstant, with some types of these roles being pointed out. As a result of the study, the semantic field of the action essence of LIFE concept has been outlined and structured.
