SCIENTIFIC TEXT PROCESSING AT THE INITIAL STAGE OF LANGUAGE LEARNING IN TECHNICAL UNIVERSITIES

This article generalizes over 25 years teaching experience of the Department of Documentation Science and the Ukrainian language at the preparatory department of the M. Ye. Zhukovskyi National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute” – the leading university of engineering and technical education in Ukraine, geared toward working out the scientific text at the initial stage of studying the language in the technical higher schools as a precondition for understanding and learning information in the language of instruction and, accordingly, for forming further professional competence of foreign students.
One of the main problems which stimulates teachers to write numerous special manuals in practically every single educational institution of Ukraine, which provides educational services to foreign citizens, without which it would be impossible to teach foreign students on the chosen specialty, is considered, including the creation of clearly professionally oriented methodological complexes (programs, manuals, etc.), taking into account the teaching and pedagogical load at a particular University, since it can be significantly differed taking into consideration the autonomy of university.
An example of a vocational and oriented text from the collection of texts which is being prepared for publishing in the 2019-2020 academic year for students in the field of Aviation and Space-rocket Technology, Aviation Transport, or another chosen specialty in the M. Ye. Zhukovskyi National Aerospace University “Khai” is firstly given. The complex of tasks aimed at mastering the new vocabulary and its their active lexical use of students, actualization of knowledge on grammatical control and assimilation of typical constructions, the formation of abilities to separate the relevant information from the text, compiling a simple question plan, reproducing the main content of the text are described.
It is indicated that it’s the preparatory department that is a base for understanding unadapted texts, making lecture notes from a teacher’s voice, as well as an own monologue speech based on processed texts, and later – writing the first scientific work.
