THE IMPLEMENTATION OF EMTIONAL ASSESSMENT IN THE SPEECH-MAKING OF MARIA MATHIOS («SWEET DARUSIA»)

Abstract

In the linguistic aspect, the issue of emotional evaluation is little researched, so the article considers in particular the problem of evaluation as such, and, in fact, its verbalization in artistic discourse. Language is not only an object, but also a tool for studying emotions. Evaluation as a component of the semantic structure of a word can have both a positive and a negative meaning. The positive component is usually expressed in words with a caressing or humorous tone. Negative meanings are mostly expressed by swearing, rude, contemptuous, sometimes obscene words. Since evaluation occurs in speech situations, commenting on and analyzing them, we are investigating the use of emotional and evaluative vocabulary in Maria Mathios's speech-making as well as in artistic discourse, based on the work of the writer "Sweet Darusia".
The article examines the peculiarities of emotional evaluation, analyzes evaluation units, emotionally-evaluative words and stable phrases that help analyze language as a means of learning about the world around us, through the prism of which one can examine inner feelings, human feelings, impressions, attitudes to certain situations, reactions, etc. Valuable vocabulary reflects the writer's inner world. More detailed attention is focused, in particular, on the linguistic units of the realization of emotionality in the language work of Maria Mathios. The means of expressing emotional assessment were analyzed mostly at the lexical and phraseological levels: grammatical word formations, emotionally colored words, stable phrases, interspersed dialogic speech, author's novelties reflect the meaning of phenomena and situations and vividly convey the flavor of local speech, represent the expression and emotional force of what is said.
