A COMPETENT APPROACH TO THE FORMATION OF SPEECH CULTURE OF LEGAL STUDENTS

The article examines the role and significance of the competence approach in the formation of speech culture of law students. The features of modern competence education are highlighted, which aims to provide a person with a set of knowledge and practical skills for successful self-realization in various spheres of life, and focuses on creativity, initiative, independence and mobility of future specialists. It was determined that the competence approach most deeply reflects the innovations taking place today in all European countries, ensures a high level and efficiency of professional training.
It was established that the competence approach provides an integrated experience of solving life problems and performing important professional functions, social roles and competencies. Attention is focused on defining key competencies for lifelong learning, which enable a person to effectively participate in many social spheres, contribute to improving the quality of society and individual success.
It was determined that the main task of language training of future specialists is the formation and development of language and speech competences, which serve as representative characteristics of their professional competence. It has been established that the system of competency-based education in higher education puts new emphasis on teaching tools and teaching requirements. Priority is given to those that involve communicative and situational tasks, require the involvement of creative experience of students, are close to the future legal activity. Practical recommendations are provided regarding training methods that contribute to the formation of basic professional competencies, in particular, the speech culture of future specialists.
It was concluded that the competence approach is the main factor in the formation of the communicative competence of lawyers, and the linguistic competence of specialists is an indicator of their professional knowledge, value orientations and language culture.
