The article is devoted to the study of phrasal verbs related to the sphere of relationship used in the film “Anyone But You” (2024). The article presents the classification of these phrasal verbs and the set of various exercises designed specifically for teaching these phrasal verbs in the context of different stages of the English language learning process. The article also discusses the stages of teaching the vocabulary material: diagnostic testing, clarification stage, controlled practice and freer practice stage – exercises designed for each stage of teaching phrasal verbs as vocabulary units. Classifying phrasal verbs into certain units and teaching them throughout those stages makes the teaching and learning process more engaging and effective. Moreover, teaching phrasal verbs with the help of films is very useful, as it allows the students to see the new vocabulary in the context or, in other words, in practice. Finally, the freer practice stage enables students to use the new vocabulary units, such as phrasal verbs, in their personalized context.
