Abstract

The formed in psychology theories of emotions and the possibility of using them to construct mathematical models aimed to diagnose the emotional state of a person through mobile devices were researched in the article. The evolution of scientific views on the formation and classification of human emotional states was analyzed. The grouping of theories of emotions was carried out from the point of view of the possibilities of using it to construct mathematical models. As a result of the comparative analysis, the advantages and disadvantages of each group of emotion theories in the context of their formalization for building mathematical models were revealed. The discussion areas of each group of theories and the influence of socio-cultural factors on the formalized representation of the model were outlined. Problematic issues, both technical and psychological, were outlined with the concern of the presentation of input data for the construction of mathematical models. The issues of structuring the cumulative instantaneous emotional state of a person were highlighted separately. The strengths and weaknesses of the representation of the simulation results were analyzed depending on the chosen theoretical model of emotions with an account of grouping.
