Abstract

In the article the conceptual basis of the organization of psychological support of servicemen-sappers was shown. The professionally important qualities needed by a sapper on the minefield were defined. The main directions of the psychological support of the sappers performing tasks in combat conditions should include professional-psychological selection, psychological training and psychological assistance. For example, among the servicemen who were demining the territory of South Lebanon the most efficient and confident were those who had low or intermediate levels of reactive anxiety, a hypertinic and demonstrative type of accentuation of character, as well as those acting as a part of the «combat three» («boyevaya troika»).
