Abstract

The article studies the roles of translators within the main periods of the history of Ukrainian-German translation: 1) late 19th to early 20th century – introduction / influence of the West-Ukrainian multicultural milieu; 2) Soviet era / ideological motivation; 3) popularizing effect of translations by A.-H. Horbach’s; 4) contemporary Ukraine in the representations of young translators.
