Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of complex substantive units which are widely used in all subsystems of the modern German language. They are characterized by high expressive and stylistic potential and wide spectrum of communicative and discourse features. The authors investigate pragmatic and stylistic functions of substantive composites. The examples are given to show stylistic effects which can appear on the basis of contrast of a composite and macrocontext or culturological background.
