Abstract

This article deals with typological characteristics of contradictory connectors in adversative parataxis and concessive hypotaxis. Their structural and semantic features are revealed. Linguacognitive models are also described, where the connector, being the notional centre of the contradictory utterance, functions as predicate of the highest level of abstraction.
