BLENDING AS METHOD OF WORD-FORMATION OF LANGUAGE ECONOMY IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract

The article deals with blending as newest method of word-formation in English that is to one of important facilities of language economy, in connection with development of different spheres of society’s activity. Research and analysis of telescopic units in English gave an opportunity to learn their origin and distribution, define their classification, spheres of their use and functioning. The results of researches are based on data of etymologic dictionary and materials of the British national corpus (BNC).
