Abstract

In the article the attempt is made to prove the typological connection and the national originality of the English “PreRaphaelite Brotherhood” and the Ukrainian “Young Muse”. The regularities of appearance and functioning of the literaryartistic organizations are observed, the analogies and differences in the aims, tasks, aesthetic principles are analyzed. It is pointed to the main characteristics, especially such as the revolutionary opposition of these groups against the industrial society, their concentration on the cult of beauty and the freedom of creative work, striving for the synthesis of arts, etc.
