SOMETHING ABOUT THE PSEUDONYMS OF THE PERIOD OF 1942-1954 YEARS (FROM THE MATERIALS OF THE UKRAINIAN PROSE COMPOSITIONS)

Abstract

The motivational principles of choosing the pseudo for naming a person have been analized in this article, as well as the conditions, that have the infl uence on the pseudonym nomination for the characters of the novels about the national – liberation movement in 1942-1954. The different semantic and motivational categories of the pseudo’schoiсealso have been found out, for example:the names for the marking of the animalandplant world;one - or two-part anthropological formulas; the pseudonymschosenfor afamilystatusorfor thecharacter’s occupation; the pseudonyms the semantics of which point to the external and internal features of a man; the
pseudonyms, which are simultaneously the toponymic units, the names of mythological and historical persons,the names of natural or artifi cial formations; the pseudonyms, the semantics of which are the names of feelings, tools and parts of the human body. In addition, their frequency of use was shownin the analyzed fi ction texts.
