Abstract

The article deals with the poetonomastics pace of the fantasy novel “The Magician’s Nephew” by C.S. Lewis.A number of scientifi c works have been devoted to the consideration of the propernames in the literary work context, analysis of the irnature and cultural aspect. Despite the active interest of the researchers to the study of peculiarities of the poetonyms functioning in a literary text, there remains a need for a detailed study of individual semantic classes. This will help to descibe the features more profound lyandenable to make the analysis of poetonyms pace of individual authors. These factors determinet hetopicality of the given article. The aim of the investigationis to consider expressive features, functional characteristics and cultural basis of this class. Them orphological features, origin and types of formation of the poetonyms have been viewed. Their content and stylistic features have been analyzed. The role of the poetonyms in the author’s idiolect has been defi ned.
