Abstract

The article analyzes the family standards of a woman in the collection of short stories by E. Kononenko «Prostitutes also get married». A writer depicts a number of female images. Most of them are intellectuals, workers in the fi eld of science, education or culture, but unlucky in their personal lives, often oppressed. Women characters are revealed in the context of the socio-political situation in the country and a series of events in their personal lives. Each woman has her own family values, related to breeding in their family, the infl uence of society. According to this several hypostases of women are distinguished, the brightest of which are: the wife, the mistress, the mother, the prostitute, the mother in law. These family values E. Kononenko often reveal against the background of opposition “parents-children”, in the center of which there is a confl ict associated with the rejection of family values of another generation.
