Abstract

The article is devoted to explication of figurative-semantic denominations of God in the poetic texts of writers of XX century (Bohdan-Ihor Antonych, Vasyl Stus, Ivan Drach). In the article, we have distinguished the dominant lexical-semantic nomination groups for designation of God, their synonymic nominations, figurative-semantic typology, phraseological linguistic units and presented the classifi cation of nominative constructions by the core naming unit. In fiction works, names are represented as exponents of idiolect and individual outlook of the writers. Poetically-oriented texts interpret nominations with preserved religious meaning, but this meaning additionally has everyday-life content, pertaining to a certain period of time.
Nominative structures refl ect a change of the Christian world model and mental opinions under the influence of cultural-social development. The author’s view of the world through addressing phrases, phraseological and metaphorical units represents transformational features of nominations. In texts God is mostly observed in the monotheistic interpretation, He is often called as God the Father.
