The article analyzes the phraseological representation of emotional features through comparative phraseological units. Groups of the most frequently encountered objects of comparison that form the phraseological meaning of comparatives are analyzed. Phraseological
units reflect the specific nature of the environment perception, native speakers’ priorities of assessing the reality. These cognitive mechanisms
are conditioned by such historical factors as the customs and traditions of a particular nation. These factors generally affect the thinking of the people and find their full reflection in the language. Linguistic conditionality of these factors is the special object of research in linguistic and cultural studies. The description of the cultural connotation of phraseological similes allows singling out the universal and
national specifi c on the material of the studied languages.
