FIXED EXPRESSSIONS AS A PECULIARITY OF THE WORKS OF GUNTER GRASS

Abstract

The article deals with the fixed expressions of the German language as a certain feature of the Günter Grass works, provides the examples of fixed expressions, their meanings in the context of the work, and the meaning of every lexeme of the expression in autonomous use. Since there arises a question, whether the idioms and fixed expressions are one and the same phenomenon, or separate independent from each other linguistic units, therefore, in this article are presented for comparison both fixed expressions as a whole in a context of the work, and separately each lexeme, as a component of a fixed expression. On the basis of this research there was demonstrated the difference in the interpretation of each lexeme separately, and its usage and interpretation in a fixed expression. Examples of the given fixed expressions demonstrate the peculiarity of the works and style of Günter Grass, who with the help of idioms and fi xed expressions gives to his works a special imagery. Fixed expressions play a significant role in creating the imagery of the work and the reflection of the emotion and feelings power of the characters, make the content more vivid.
