The relevance of article defi nes the tasks of reforming the language of education in Ukraine, aimed at establishing for elementary students spelling skills; improve their speech culture and the need to use a differentiated approach to teaching spelling elementary students. Analyzed reasons for spelling errors at students, typological groups described with different levels of elementary students formed they have spelling skills. Pedagogical conditions are defi ned using differentiated instruction spelling of elementary students. The principle of differentiated learning is supposed to use the optimum for each pupil techniques and ways of learning. The principle of methodological advice for learning spelling is basing on the general idea of individually differentiated approach of the learning, the basis of which can be consider the idea of L. Vygotsky about the necessity of matching the content of learning abilities of students. The principle of government educational activities. Choosing a combination of teaching methods, the method of presentation of educational material is carrying out by a teacher. Student must choose a way of mastering educational material. The teacher must develop guidelines for working with training material, the Organization of independent work of students. The technique of introducing differentiated learning, we have received the results. That showed improving spelling skills for students of the third grade, as well as the fact that the lightness and strength of the assimilation of students diffi cult in writing
