LEXICAL PECULIARITIES OF THE TRANSLATION OF THE TERMS -WORD -COMBINATIONS OF THE ECO - NOMIC FIELD INTO UKRAINIAN

Abstract

The article deals with lexical ways of the translation of economic terms. English economic terminological units and their Ukrainian equivalents have been analyzed. The most common lexical ways of translation of economic terminology into Ukrainian have been described. According to the morphological peculiarities the terms can be divided into such groups: simple, derivative, compound, wordcombinations and terms-reductions. Depending on the amount of the components terms-word-combinations, can be binominal, trinominal and polynominal. At the analysis of translation of terms-word-combinations methods several ways of translation were found out. Literal translation (replication) is the installments of word or word-combination with further combination of the parts. The main part of the term can be given with help of an adjective, also possible the changes of the order of the components and semantic meaning can be shown by means of pretexts. Transcription is the transmission of the English word by the Ukrainian by a recreation with help of the Ukrainian letters, its phonemic structure; and a transliteration as a transmission of the English word by the reproduction of its graphic form. Similar receptions are used for the transmission of the names of firms, corporations and other organizations. The semantic equivalent or functional analogue includes the use of the really existent Ukrainian words that represent the meaning of the English term fully or partly.
Explication (descriptive translation) is used in case when it is to find an equivalent in the language that translation is done. The marked method consists of the transmission of the meaning of the word by means of its description, explanation. The descriptive translation allows passing the meaning of the term exactly enough, but a multicomponent word-combination complicates the syntactic structure of the corresponding text of the language of the translation. There is possibility of the combination of the several translation methods simultaneously.
