Abstract

The subject of our publication is consideration of word building as a link between predicative and non-predicative signs, as a system which enables a formation of nominations and at the same time has a lot in common with syntax. Word building genesis happened gradually – from morphemics through structural-semantic approach to communicative-pragmatic and cognitive directions. Thus, in the context of knowledge topical for modern interdisciplinary and integrative studies, we have made a decision to regard word building at the intersection of morphology, syntax, textology and other studies. Derivatologists’ view on word building as a dynamic system, as a language translevel allows revealing factors of organization and mechanisms of derivative formation, peculiarities of their semantics, correlation with propositional structures etc. Nominalization processes prove that according to the manner of reality depiction derivatives are close to syntactic structures. According to cognition dynamics, notion as a component of word semantic structure should be studies as a result of mental forms of predicative character, transformation of assessment into nomination.
