TO THE ISSUE OF INTENSIFICATION OF TEACHING ESP TO THE STUDENTS OF LAW FACULTY

The paper aims to justify the appropriateness and significance of implementing role play «Court Trial» into teaching ESP to the students of Law Faculty as one of the most effective methods of intensification of professionally oriented foreign communicative competence formation. The benefits of using role plays in teaching ESP are reviewed. On the basis of the selected areas of professional activities of lawyers and ESP learning objectives, the typical situations of professional communication are determined and suggested for developing role plays. The peculiarities of conducting simulation role plays for law students
have been described. The author outlines the factors that can lead to success or failure of role playing. Much attention should be paid to developing skills in public speaking as debate is the most difficult part of simulated trials. The clichés that can be considered the key to the success in legal pleadings have been suggested. The recommendations to preparation and implementation
of the simulated role play «Court Trial» into teaching ESP have been given.
