Abstract

The article deals with the structural and semantic features of innovative units denoting person’s names which are functioning in the headlines of today’s Internet media (pravda.com.ua, sprotiv.org, eurointegration.com.ua, 4post.com.ua, uzinform.com.ua, epochtimes.com.ua, rep-ua.com).
The high level of politicization of the Ukrainian society is determining the fact of the appearance in the Ukrainian media discourse the different types of innovations structurally and semantically motivated by ideological and political views of speakers.
Linguistic analysis reveals the following thematic groups and subgroups of innovative names denoting different notions. They are:
I. Person’s names: 1) names denoting state politicians; 2) names describing forms of activity (with 2 subgroups – a) names of professions, posts, kinds of activity; b) members of organizations, representatives of ideologies, status bearers); 3) names differentiating persons by certain features. II. Names indicating the state of society, the level of its development, negative processes. III. Names designating social phenomena and processes. IV. Names denoting concepts from the field of social communications. V. Names depicting books on political topics, lists, agreements, documents and their projects. VI. Names denoting the realities of international relations. VII. Names marking different actions, projects and flash mobs. VIII. Names designating organizations, parties, blocs and state structures. IX. Names indicating family, ceremonial and friendly relations. X. Names marking countries, settlements, territories.
