Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the macroscopic characteristics of the concepts HEAVY and LIGHT, the mechanisms of the cognitive motivation of a language form and the specifics of the conceptualisation of heavy and light objects. The dyad of these concepts is a system that complies with synergetics laws, i. e. it functions near the point of stability loss and has feedback. The outcome of a conceptualisation event is probabilistic. The characteristics of the macroscopic state, which corresponds to the concepts HEAVY and LIGHT, are sense as an order parameter, weight as a control parameter, dominant sense as an attractor, synonyms and antonyms as repellers. Synonyms and antonyms belong to a language system, the categories of sense and weight are beyound a language system: sense belongs to a cognitive system and weight is a fact. The nominative forms heavy and light are etymologically motivated by weight and their speech validity is confirmed historically. The specifics of the conceptualisation of the heavy and the light consist of information compression, the reliability of its transfer, the states of heaviness and lightness and the stability of state. We witness a phase transfer when a concept has been chosen.
