Abstract

The author examines strategies for representing the traumatic experience of the Second World War in the texts of Vasyl Shkliar and Yurii Andrukhovych. In particular, the novels of writers comprehend the complex pages of the Ukrainian nationalist underground activity. The researcher stresses that Vasyl Shkliar and Yuri Andrukhovych refuse the traditional model of victimization of the Ukrainian past and idealization of the UPA, creating instead a polyphonic picture, in which lines of heroic and criminal intersect.
